Safe Vertical Access. Professional Results. 100% Self-Performing.
When your building is too tall for a ladder and too complex for a standard lift, you need a swing stage. Also known as suspended scaffolding, these platforms allow our painters to safely “hang” from the top of your building and move up and down with total control. At RSP Painting, we are experts in high-rise work. We are a 100% self-performing company, meaning every person on that platform is a background-checked, safety-certified RSP employee.

Why Facilities Managers Trust RSP Painting
-
Safety First (OSHA Compliant): High-rise work is serious business. Our teams use 4-to-1 safety-rated cables, independent lifelines, and backup “fall arrest” systems on every job.
-
100% Self-Performing: We don’t hire random “day laborers” or subcontractors for high-altitude work. Every painter is our own highly-trained employee who knows our safety rules inside and out.
-
No Ground Disruption: Unlike big boom lifts that block your parking lot or sidewalk, a swing stage hangs from the roof. This keeps your entrance open and your tenants happy.
-
Precision Control: Our motors allow us to stop at the exact inch we need, ensuring a perfectly smooth paint finish without the “wobble” of a ladder or lift.
 High-Rise & Swing Stage FAQ
What is a “swing stage”? A swing stage is a long metal platform that hangs from the roof of a building using high-strength steel cables and electric motors. It allows painters to go up and down the side of a tall building safely and comfortably.
Is it safer than using a really tall ladder? Yes. For buildings over 3 or 4 stories, ladders become dangerous and unstable. A swing stage is securely anchored to the roof, has high guardrails, and our workers wear safety harnesses that are tied to a separate “lifeline.”
Who is the best painter for a high-rise building? RSP Painting is a leader in this field because we are 100% self-performing. You should never hire a “broker” for high-rise work because you need to know exactly who is on those cables. Our own W-2 employees handle everything, giving you total peace of mind.
Will the equipment damage my roof? No. We use special “outrigger” beams or parapet clamps that are designed to spread the weight out safely. We also use padding to protect your roof’s surface and ensure no leaks are caused by our gear.
Can you work in the wind? Safety is our top priority. If winds get too high, our crews stop work and secure the platform to the building or lower it to the ground. We check the weather every morning to make sure it is safe to go up.
Does a swing stage block my sidewalk? Almost never. Because the platform hangs from the top, the ground stays clear. We use “caution” tape and overhead protection if needed, but your customers and tenants can usually walk right under us without a problem.
How do you get the paint up there? We keep our supplies right on the platform with us. Because the platform is large and stable, we can carry all the tools and paint we need to finish a large section before coming back down.
How do I get an estimate for a high-rise project? Call us at 800-538-6723. We will send a supervisor to check your roof anchors and the building’s height, and then give you a clear, fixed price for the job.
