Professional Coating & Corrosion Control for Manufacturing & Facility Equipment
RSP Painting understands the harsh realities of an industrial plant. Your fixed equipment—from mixing tanks and conveyor systems to chillers and miles of complex piping—is constantly under attack. Extreme temperatures, abrasive dust, corrosive chemicals, and continuous vibration break down factory finishes, leading to aggressive rust and catastrophic mechanical failures.
Replacing specialized plant equipment costs millions. Restoring it costs a fraction of that.
We are the premier industrial plant equipment painting contractors in the USA. With over $8 million in annual revenue, our own fleet of industrial prep equipment, and a dedicated workforce of 30+ full-time W-2 employees, RSP has the scale to execute massive plant-wide coating projects. Whether you manage a chemical processing plant in Texas, a food manufacturing facility in Illinois, or a paper mill in Georgia, RSP delivers highly technical coating solutions across all 50 states.
The RSP Difference: Industrial Scale & Precision
-
Zero Production Downtime: We know plant downtime is measured in thousands of dollars per minute. We work around your production schedule, deploying crews during 3rd shifts, weekends, or scheduled holiday turnarounds (outages).
-
Advanced Surface Prep: We don’t just paint over problems. We utilize dry ice blasting, sponge blasting, and contained abrasive blasting to strip failing coatings and rust without damaging sensitive electronics or pneumatics.
-
No Subcontractors: Industrial environments demand strict safety compliance. We never broker your project. Our in-house employees are fully trained in Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and high-angle safety.
Comprehensive Plant Equipment Painting Services
We provide corrosion control and high-performance coatings for the critical infrastructure that keeps your plant running.
1. Manufacturing & Processing Machinery
We restore the assets on your production floor to pristine, factory-new condition.
-
The Assets: Stamping presses, CNC machines, robotic welding cells, industrial mixers, blenders, and roll-forming equipment.
-
Electrostatic Painting: For intricate machinery, we use electrostatic sprayers. The electrically charged paint magnetically wraps around the metal, ensuring 100% coverage on complex parts with virtually zero overspray.
-
Chemical Resistance: We apply high-performance Novolac epoxies and urethanes that resist cutting fluids, lubricants, and caustic washdowns.
2. Facility Infrastructure & HVAC/R
Don’t let the “lungs and veins” of your plant rust away.
-
The Assets: Rooftop chillers, cooling towers, backup generators, air scrubbers, pumps, and motors.
-
High-Temperature Coatings: For boilers, exhaust stacks, and heat exchangers, we apply specialized silicone-alkyd coatings capable of withstanding extreme thermal shock and continuous heat up to 1,200°F.
-
Moisture Mitigation: We apply moisture-curing urethanes to equipment in highly humid environments, such as water treatment rooms or wash bays, to stop flash-rusting.
3. Pipe Banding & Complex Piping Systems
-
Color-Coded Safety: We paint complex piping networks according to ANSI/ASME A13.1 standards. Whether it’s yellow for flammable fluids, green for potable water, or red for fire quenching, we ensure your facility is visually organized and OSHA compliant.
-
Insulated Pipes (CUI): We treat and coat pipes to prevent Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), a major hidden danger in processing plants.
4. Bulk Storage, Tanks & Silos
-
The Assets: Chemical storage tanks, secondary containment basins, grain silos, and hoppers.
-
Tank Linings: We apply chemical-resistant internal linings for acid/base storage, and high-build elastomeric or urethane coatings on the exterior to protect against UV degradation and atmospheric corrosion.
The Process: Industrial-Grade Restoration
Applying the paint is only 10% of the job. The real work is in the preparation.
-
Safety & Containment: We coordinate with your EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) team to establish LOTO protocols. We erect temporary containment around the equipment to prevent dust and debris from contaminating your active production lines.
-
Degreasing & Decontamination: We utilize 4,000 PSI hot-water washing and industrial solvents to remove decades of baked-on grease, hydraulic oil, and manufacturing byproducts.
-
Abrasive Profiling: Depending on the equipment sensitivity, we use dry ice blasting (which sublimates with zero cleanup), wet vapor blasting, or traditional sandblasting to achieve the exact SSPC surface profile required by the coating manufacturer.
-
High-Performance Application: We apply zinc-rich or epoxy mastics to galvanize the metal, followed by a durable topcoat (Urethane, Fluoropolymer, or specialized Epoxy) engineered for your specific industrial atmosphere.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you paint equipment that has sensitive electronics and wiring? A: Yes. This is where our Dry Ice Blastingand Electrostatic Painting shine. Dry ice is non-conductive and leaves no secondary waste, allowing us to clean around wiring safely. Electrostatic painting eliminates the wet overspray that could otherwise short out control panels.
Q: Our plant operates 24/7. How can you prep and paint without stopping the line? A: We are experts in isolating work zones. We use negative air pressure containment tents to enclose the equipment we are working on. This allows us to sandblast and spray right next to an active, running production line without any risk of cross-contamination.
Q: Do you handle the secondary containment areas around the equipment? A: Absolutely. We repair spalled concrete and install highly chemical-resistant vinyl ester or thick-mil epoxy coatings in the containment trenches and basins beneath your tanks and machinery.
